Performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’s A Sea Symphony
20th May 2017

Note by Musical Director

We had a tremendous Singing Day in 2017: the most ambitious piece we’ve undertaken - Ralph Vaughan Williams’s A Sea Symphony, the largest number (yet) taking part - 110 singers, a pretty well-balanced choir, a fantastic pace of work and a wonderful sense of achievement in the final performance. Inspirational piano playing by Tim Kennedy, and very committed performances from our two excellent young soloists - Charlotte Richardson and Stuart Orme - really brought this thrilling music to life. A great day!
